WILLIAM and THOMAS MICHAEL SYKES (third generation)
WILLIAM SYKES (no descendants)
William was the second child of George and Catherine Sykes of Spring Valley and was born on 7th February 1839.
When he was a boy of 14 years he left home to take five horses to Sydney in order to sell them. He did not return. He is supposedly buried near Towrang in the year 1853. Some people believe he was killed by bushrangers, but he has never been heard of since.
THOMAS MICHAEL SYKES (no descendants)
Thomas was the third child of George and Catherine Sykes of Spring Valley and was born there on 2nd April 1841.
Thomas worked with his father, at Spring Valley, and lived in the original homestead there until his death on 26th May 1928. He died at the residence of his brother, Silvester, in Goulburn. Thomas remained single, and was buried in North Goulburn Cemetery. Father Cosgrave officiated at the grave.
